There are not enough superlatives to describe the performance of the Ref 2. 
This is what one reviewer had to say, to sum it all up...performance above the bass was also subtly more vivid, warm, and harmonically enriched than the incoming signal, but only slightly so: full bloom, no stem rot. The result was a coherent, fertile, BIG picture—
