Balance Audio Technology VK-5i Fully Balanced Preamplifier

I purchased this reference quality, dual mono construction BAT VK-5i in 2002 from the original owner. The unit is in excellent condition, with no dents, blemishes, etc. The unit is truly in excellent condition, rated 8 out of 10. I replaced the factory capacitors with new Jensen capacitors for better sound quality in 2008. I also replaced the resistors. All the work was done by a factory authorized dealer, Audio Gallery.  This preamp is built extremely well and weighs 36 pounds. It was a perennial Stereophile Class A component...check out the reviews. The unit uses 8-6922 or equal tubes and 2-5881 tubes. In the unit now are the following tubes: 4-Hewlett Packard 6DJ8 tubes made in Holland, 2-Amperex 6DJ8 tubes made in Holland and 2-6922 Sovtek tubes made in Russia, and 2-5881/6L6WGC tubes that are from Russia. I have the following extra tubes: 2-GE 6L6WGB tubes made in Canada, 2-6L6WGC tubes made in Russia and 4-6922 Sovtek tubes made in Russia. This fully balanced preamp comes with 5 XLR line level inputs. Output options include 2-main and 1 XLR connections. I have 2 remotes, the original that is not operating (it is not a battery issue) and the replacement unit I purchased from BAT (see photo). I have the box, packaging, owners manual, white paper and a copy of the marketing literature from the manufacturer. The serial number is 0050400079. This is probably the cleanest used BAT VK 5i preamplifier you’ll find anywhere.  There are a couple very minor scratches on the chassis at the rear, but they are too small to pick up with my camera and are truly meaningless, but for transparency sake I mention them here.  If you are interested, please call/text 916-390-1639 or email with your questions.
