Cary Audio Design CAD-808R (Rocket 88R) Stereo Tube Amplifier [Template]

Cary CAD-808 Rocket 88R Power Amplifier in excellent condition both sonically and cosmetically. This is not the best and the most expensive, but one of the most successful amplifier that Cary made. It provides clean, distortion free 30 watts class A in Triode mode and 60 watts class AB in Ultralinear. The sound is very rich, open and lush. It is a real pleasure to listen to it. It is a very flexible amplifier: triode/ linear mode switchable on the "fly", 4 ohms/ 8 ohms speaker terminals, RCA/ XLR inputs. It comes with Russian Winged "C" KT88's, Raytheon 12BZ7's and Ruby EL-84's . The power indicating RCA VT-138/1692 green "cat eye" tubes are new and dimmable.

Rocket 88 won the "2003 Editor's Choice" award from The Absolute Sound and "2004 Editor's Choice” award from The Perfect Vision. This unit is the last, upgraded R version. More great reviews are available and easy to find on the web.
