Available here is my Pilot SA-232 tube amp. I purchased this amp over 13 years ago and have had many years of enjoyment with it. It sounded excellent with my vintage RCA LC-1A's and other speakers i had such as Tannoys. I have always used original Mullard EL-84 tubes that give off a warmer and more robust sound than Telefunkens (which I have also tried). I have also had some vital parts professionally upgraded when the amp was given a thorough inspection. This includes a half dozen Jensen copper paper in oil caps and a couple of original Rubycon Black Gate caps. The total cost of the upgraded parts was approx. 300.00 and the labor approx. 200.00...it was well worth it for those that love the EL 84 sound. The original cage cover is also included as well as the quad of Mullards I have been using for years. All the other necessary tubes are included with another extra pair of 12AX7 tubes (unused) for backups. This lovely collectors pieces has not been repainted and has original patena and signs of use (remember this were made in the late 1950's!). Conservatively rated at 6/10 but please see the photos. Yahoo Groups has a long time following of these fine amps. Pilot made very high quality electronics in the 1950s-60s, and today has a cult-like following. This SA-232 stereo amplifier exemplifies superb build quality along with superior sonics. The Pilot SA-232 is one of the beefiest 7189/EL84 based amps, with transformers larger than those on most 7591 based amps. Perfect for high-efficiency and horn-loaded speakers. Continuous Power per Channel: 17 Watts Frequency Response: 20-20,000 Hertz Harmonic Distortion: >1% at Full Output IM Distortion: >1.5% at Full Output Sensitivity: 1 volt for full power output Hum Level: 90 dB below full power Input Impedance: 470,000 Ohms Output Impedance: 4, 8, or 16 Ohms Power Consumption: 150 watts, 105-120 Volts, 60 Hz AC Tube Complement: 12AU7 x1 Amplifier, 12AX7 x 2 Amplifier Phase Inverter, EL84 x 4 Power Output, GZ34 x 1 Power Rectifier. Produced circa 1959. Sams schematics included. Please estimate 45.00 for shipping to North America (excluding the West Coast where pricing is about 20.00 higher). Feel free to ask questions.
