One of the functions on this preamp is a tube timer that monitors the hours that are logged on the tubes and the unit, the timer on this unit reads 424 hours and 10 minutes.
We tested the unit and remote and all functions worked perfect. Did I mention this is not some over priced Chinese piece of junk? It was made in Boulder, Colorado right here in the U.S.A. with quality parts, and it shows! This unit is so new there are few professional reviews out at this time so we will give you our opinion of how this preamp sounded. You must keep in mind that all reviews of equipment are in large part subjuective no matter who does them. We have found that room acoustics, system synergy and personal taste must be taken into consideration when reading reviews of equipment. We get to listen to a lot of preamps here in numerous different systems and we think a great preamp should just get out of the way and let the music flow, it should not add anything to the music nor should it subtract anything from the music, that is exactly what the BHK preamp does. Based on what listening we have done so far with this preamp, we are very impressed and think it is going to be a giant killer, it has set a new benchmark for what a $6,000.00 preamp should sound like, it will have all the more expensive preamp manufactures scambling to come up with something that can compete with this preamp at this price.
