Hello:
It is only with the greatest regret that I submit this classified listing for my beloved reference amplifier, the Nobu Shiseido designed Wavac Audio Lab MD-300B power amplifier.
I am relocating to a small apartment in D.C. this summer, and have reluctantly agreed to eliminate my speaker system in favor of a dedicated headphone system. Please see my other listings for my JE Labs pre-amplifier and my DeVore Gibbon 8 Loudspeakers.
I am willing to trade this unit for a high-end STAX amplifier ( Blue Hawaii SE, KGSS, WOO audio, etc.) to pair with my Omega 2.
I imagine this amplifier needs little introduction - it sounds every bit as good as it should. This is not your father's 300B - not a trace of syrup or tubby sound signatures. It's sweet, extended, exacting, and, frankly, about as perfect as any piece of stereo equipment I've ever owned. There is truly a magic to the great Japanese designers (shindo, wavac, air-tight, and the like).
Cosmetically, the amplifier is not perfect, but it is still in very excellent condition. Please see the pictures.
There is a small dimple on the rear panel, and some very minor marks in some places, too small to photograph adequately. Please ignore the dust in the photos. :)
Conservative 7/10.
I have the original manuals, and the heavy-duty original packing materials.
A full compliment of tubes is included. a New-ish (very low hours) set of 300B's, a great pair of tung-sol 12AT7's, and a NOS pair of RCA 6Y6.
I am willing to ship at buyer's expense, FOB Charlottesville, VA. The shipment must be insured for the full value. I am also willing to drive 300 miles from the DC area to meet someone halfway.
Please do not hesitate to ask any questions, to ask for more pictures, or to make an offer.
I prefer payment via certified or bank check, but will accept paypal as long as the buyer agrees to foot the 3.1% fee (4% for AMEX). I am already incurring the outrageous 2% audion fee on this transaction. Please see my exemplary feedback.
Thank you.
