I have a new 596 Audio Tube. This was made by United Electronics for the USAF. This with the new Woo Audio adapter allows you to use this as a 5UR4substitute. Dub Sup massive 5AR4 Tube reviews where she tests and than rates several 5UR4 Tubes led me to purchase a couple of her recommendations to see where her tastes and mine aligned. I agreed with her picks and her comments. She recommended the United Electronics 596 as being the equivalent of the Western Electric 422A's only less expensive. I agree but am now selling my unit that incorporates this tube. This is a great find and has become a very elusive tube to find.
