Reluctantly selling a classic McIntosh MR 80 that I recently purchased from the original owner for use in a second system that has yielded priority to a once in a life time trip for my daughter. Unit is in good physical condition considering age but does have noticeable scratches on the top chassis with white paint on the top of the rear front panel face plate and a line of paint on the top front of the chassis through the station presets numbers 2 and 3 along with smudges on the station letters. Left side of chassis had an inch of scotch tape and the rear of the panel has an inch of masking tape. Front panel sides have white paint on them. Front face plate is in good shape with no major signs of damage. I unfortunately can't describe the sound or tuning since I do not have a suitable FM antenna. As a result, I am selling the unit as is. Based upon the performance of the other two units purchased along with this one, a C-33 and an MC 2255 I speculate performance should be ok but honestly don't know. I do not have box or owner's manual. I strongly prefer a local SF Bay Area sale but might be willing to ship to verified PayPal addresses in the lower 48 states. Buyer pays associated PayPal and freight fees. Please see my other ad for the matching C-33 preamp. Also have an MC2255 that I will probably list soon. Thanks for reading this ad.
