I am the original owner of this stunning set-up. Bought approximately 5 years ago. Used sparingly in a secondary system. Everything is in great shape except for a small scratch on the platter and the maple platform, which shows signs of use from the heavy brass footers. The listing consists of the following items:
M-Modded Stanton Turntable with Stage 2 Modifications: $1799.95 Micropoint Resonance Control System for ST-150: $154 Static-Draining Record Brush: $45 Extra Headsell for ST-150: $55 18" x 15" x 2" Black Maple Platform w/ 4 Original Isoblocks: $230
Comes with two original Stanton cartridges to get you started. One is unused. The other has less than 10 hrs. on it.
Please see my listing for the Soundsmith SMMC-3 Cartridge that mates perfectly with this system for the ultimate upgrade.
This whole set-up sounds better than any other vinyl rig I have compared it to except the Jean Nantais Ultimate Lenco, which I am keeping.
I will provide full instructions on how to use it all via email once bought. Please check out the Mapleshade website to understand what you are getting. Local pick-up only. Buyer to pay any fees. Cheers and thanks for looking.
From the Mapleshade Website:
The Stanton ST-150, is a better-sounding version of the legendary Technics SL-1200 professional turntable, incorporating a far more massive, resonance-free plinth and a much heavier duty direct drive motor. Compared to standard Rega, Pro-ject and Music Hall turntables, the Stanton incorporates visibly superior engineering and quality. Even in stock form, it also delivers audibly better bass, clearer detail, quieter backgrounds and far better pitch accuracy. Included are an admirably convenient VTA adjuster and pushbutton selection of 33, 45 or 78.
As part of our base mod program for ST-150, we remove its sound-deadening plastic enclosure, replace the sprung feet with brass 2" Triplepoints coupled directly to the chassis, upgrade the platter damping, replace the stock rubber platter mat with our unique five-point record mount, add arm-to-plinth micro-coupling, upgrade motor supply/control capacitors and dielectrics throughout. The table mounts inside an elegant, fully decoupled maple enclosure.
Our Stage II mod package for analog purists takes several major steps beyond the above: the tonearm is wired directly to new, ultra-minimalist RCA jacks (eliminating the S/PDIF capability and bypassing several digital circuit boards in the signal path); we uncouple the vibration-causing motor supply transformer from the TT using an outboard triplepoint mounting; the AC cord is upgraded to our Double Helix MK2 PLUS; our full Tonearm Resonance Control Kit and three-point ultra rigid headshell-to-arm coupling is installed; and special vibration control measures are applied to the speed-controlling quartz oscillator. The result is even more transparent sound, significantly deeper and cleaner bass and silkier, more extended treble.
