Up for sale is Sota Sapphire that was upgraded to Star Status, included are SME 3009 tone arm and sota reflex clamp. TT was purchased new by previous owner whom i bought from, it has been well taken care of and the condition shows it.
The table is extremely nice with no nicks or scratches, but does have four tiny holes on the back(see pic) where previous owner had Sumiko PIB interface box mounted at one time.
previous owner had put on SME V tonearm on it and i have SME 3009 tonearm on it with the cast aluminum armboard. This board is not made anymore and can't be bought new. It was expensive option, It also comes with the expensive SOTA reflex clamp. The cover is nice and functional, but does have some small cracks at the bottom of all four corners. They are hard to notice as the tint is dark, but they do not interface with the function of the cover. Hinges are tight and hold the cover up nicely. The motor and bearing are tight and quiet and platter runs out for a very long time when shut down. Vacuum pump function works as it should and holds the record down with minimal vacuum, it is adjustable at the power supply. Rubber lip on the platter is soft and pliable. The belt works but honestly it should be replaced as it is several years old. $33 from SOTA. Other than a belt and setup and adjustment, there is nothing that i can see that needs to be done to this table. This is a high quality turntable that will compete with most tables today at an affordable price. I am calling it an 7/10 for the cracks in the cover, but overall I would rate it an 8/10. Table weights about 70 lbs in the box and there will be second box to ship. Included are tonearm, box and manual.
