Technics SP-10 Direct Drive Turntable.
This is from an estate. It was delivered to my uncle by mail order on March 3, 1975. It had been set up at one time but was played very sparingly (he left fewer than 10 LP records in his collection). It is in the original box (components wrapped in cellophane to prevent leaching from styrofoam). It is not scratched.
Some professionals refer to this original model as SP-10 MKI, but you can view pictures of the serial plate which shows SP-10 only.
This does not include a tone arm, base or dust cover. Buyer assumes shipping cost by whatever method preferred.

Ok so you do not have the external power supply? No. These were mainly used by professional DJs or audiophiles who assembled their own by using custom components they selected (tone arm, base, power supply, etc.)
This components in this unit are the direct drive turntable and platter. |
I looked up the owner manual for the SP-10 this should have a built in power supply with a 2 prong AC power cord. All the subsequent versions utilized an external power supply but not the first version. Any chance this has a power cord coming out of the bottom? Was it cut off? Was the internal supply removed? It would be a rectangular black box underneath to the left side of the chassis just behind the power switch. The rear label in your pics says 120 volts 60 Hz?
OK - you've discovered that I'm not an audiophile (this unit is from a relative's estate).
Yes, it has the power cord and the rectangular box - I assumed that the plug was to be plugged into an external source, not necessarily a wall outlet.
I do not believe that we can send you attachments on these Audiogon chats, but I will see if I can add a picture of the underneath to my ad. If not I'll ask Audiogon how to do it if at all.
Then you can see whole guts of the unit. There are two other connection cords running from components underneath.
Thanks again,
