THORENS TD-147 - GRACE 707 Tone arm Bold Restoration

This restoration represents a complete transformation to the Appearance and the Performance of this classic turntable from the legendary Thorens company. It is known as one of the best turntables in the audio history, and has been modified to super status .
It has a lot in common with the TD 160 Super since they share the same exactly plinth and chassis with a difference in its top which is black, and it comes with the well known GRACE 707 famous tone arm.

* After a complete dis-assembly, all parts pertinent to the turntables operation have been cleaned and lubricated before being re-assembled and installed. This includes the Spindle Bearing, the sub-platter, motor, suspension springs and the tonearm.

* Main platter has been polished many stages by hand .

* The plinth has been refinished, and lacquered several coats to get that wet shiny look .

* Wiring of the tonearm goes directly to brand new VAMPIRE RCA jacks installed on the rear of the plinth,
gives you the freedom to swap to various interconnects of your choice.

* Brand new belt has been installed .

* High quality brass cones in gold and black finish, installed at the bottom of plinth with adjustable spikes for level adjustment to enhance the performance and add in appearance.

*The old power cord has been replaced and new Audiophile Grade one with MARINGO Power jack with gold prongs and nice black braded sleeving has been installed.

* Dust cover in very good condition is included.

* The turntable comes with a SHURE 97-XE MM cartridge a serious tracker ,mounted and aligned professionally with the use of protractor for maximum accuracy. Various types of rare cartridges available MM, MC High and low output.If you want ,you can even send out your cartridge to be installed free of charge,to insure you are going to get the maximum out of it.

* The turntable is capable for a serious Reference performance providing very extended extreme frequencies with natural presentation wide and deep soundstage with quite black background ,extra clean highs breathtaking and realistic midrange ,clean deep bass,well controlled and defind.
