THORENS TD-166 MK II bold restoration

* This restoration represents a complete transformation to the Appearance and the Performance of this classic turntable from the legendary Thorens company. After a complete dis-assembly, all parts pertinent to the turntables operation have been cleaned and lubricated before being re-assembled and installed. This includes the Spindle Bearing, the sub-platter, motor, suspension springs and the tonearm. The plinth professionally painted using a three step process has been primed and painted with automotive paint then lacquered .to achieve a high gloss piano black finish.


*The Wiring of the tonearm goes directly to the brand new VAMPIRE RCA jacks installed on the rear of the plinth.

* Brand new belt has been installed .

*The turntable will come fitted with an excellent MM ORTOFON cartridge,professionally aligned with the use of protractor for maximum accuracy,in tracking and minimum wear of the records. Other options for cartridge are also available.

*High quality brass cones in chrome finish,with adjustable spikes for leveling installed at the bottom of plinth to enhance further the performance and add in the appearance of the turntable.

* The suspension has been improved and the sounding reproduction is now more integrated provides ,deeper and wider soundstage with 3D images even cleaner more extended bass revealing midrange and clearer highs.

*The original dustcover that appears in pictures upon request can be included ,noted that it has many swirl marks but no cracks and is completely functional.

The goal has been achieved and guarantee that this classic turntable now performs and looks at its best ever.With the suspended design ,the ultra quiet and accurate motor combined with the High Grade hardware that has been used to this Restoration ,allows it to perform at a level usually associated with much more expensive turntables and will let you enjoy the High End performance at a fraction of cost.
