Key precision engineered enhancements skillfully implemented thereby transforming the classic Swiss Thorens TD124 into a modern ultra high quality analog playback device.

Artisan Fidelity Thorens TD124 plinth design features a mass loaded internal constrained layer damped genuine Cocobolo plank wrap and hardwood composite based Panzerholz multi-tiered core.  Single and dual 9" / 12" tonearm configurations available.  Grain matched Cocobolo Armboard displayed.

Artisan Fidelity large bore stainless steel self lubricating precision Sapphire main bearing assembly featuring advanced ultra low coefficient of friction thrust pad.

Artisan Fidelity precision replacement idler wheel with stainless steel hub. (Not shown.)

Artisan Fidelity austenitic stainless steel precision balanced high mass main platter.

Thorens TD124 factory restored primary aluminum clutch platter.

Chassis mushrooms replaced with with new rubber composite mushrooms exceeding original factory specifications.

Switch compressor condenser replaced.

Plexiglass strobe window replaced .

E50 motor rebuild using new precision bushings, felt rings and seals.

Replacement stepped pulley wheel for E50 motor (Stainless Steel or Aluminum).

Non magnetic stainless steel main chassis screws provided.

Non magnetic stainless steel armboard screws.

Gold plated IEC inlet with shielded OFC Copper power cable.

Precision replacement Swiss factory o.e.m. specification belt provided to replace original step pulley drive belt.

Motor grommet conversion provided for MkI to MKII motor mount.

Replacement rubber composite Thorens mat (optional, no logo).

A hand selected team consisting of 3rd generation master woodworkers combined with a state of the art machining and finishing facility in conjunction with consultants from the renowned Purdue University Department of Engineering. Artisan Fidelity’s Thorens TD124 plinth design was carefully tuned by ear and finely developed over the years for the ultimate musical expression and tonal characteristics.  Thorens TD124 plinths individually voiced and designed, followed by core hand assembled, bonded, set and finally precision milled on a state-of-the-art Bridgeport cnc mill, then painstakingly spray finished using premium sealers and surface coatings and skillfully hand buffed to perfection.

Finishes:  Select air and kiln dried exotic and domestic hardwood species in stock, in addition to genuine burls and of course automotive finishes.  Shop cut veneer and hardwood plank finish selections may vary.  Hand rubbed English Oil, Danish Oil, Semi gloss Lacquer, matte and painted finishes optional.  We stock all factory automotive paints, including exotics, NEXTEL soft touch and pearls.
