We don't see these often! This is an original Aries Scoutmaster with all available upgrades. While VPI has reintroduced later versions of these tables, "they sure don't make them like they used to". As a long time VPI dealer, we can honestly say that these original tables were bulletproof, well conceived, and built as a reference grade VPI table. Later replaced by the Classic 3 (retail $6500 w/o SDS), and then reintroduced with compromises, the original Scoutmaster's were outstanding!
This particular table was owned by a client of ours and was well cared for. Upgrade features include the HRS feet, original JMW-10 w/ aluminum arm wand w/ "on the fly VTA", Nordost Vahalla tonearm wiring, Aluminum Heavy Platter, Stabilizing Platter Ring, HRS Center Weight, and SDS Motor Control unit. This is a great value!
