Well-Tempered Labs (WTL) “Classic” Turntable

This Well Tempered Labs “Classic” Turntable was bought in the late 1980s. It has often been compared to a Linn LP-12 by some reviewers. Ken Choi of Audio Beat (2011) said that the WTL presentation was more substantial – with a greater extension in the bass, lower noise, and sold, well defined imaging.

This turntable has a stainless steel tonearm that has a unique paddle in a cup of silicone bearing instead of being attached to a mechanical bearing. The platter is acrylic and rides on a stainless steel spindle, which is inserted into a Teflon hole, which is lubricated by 5W-50 synthetic motor oil.

This turntable was recently upgraded 6 months ago to incorporate an Origin Live DC motor and Origin Live transformer at a cost of $1,000. It comes with a Sumiko EVO III cartridge set up with it that has approx. 400 hours of play on it. I have manuals on the deck and its set-up as well as an extra new “Factory” belt, in addition to the one it has fitted, which will also be sent.

I would prefer local pick-up, but will ship if necessary. Since the silicon and oil have to be drained for shipment, I would need $100 for shipping cost to ensure everything arrives undamaged. I have a tube of the correct silicon for the damping that will be sent along (shown in photos).
