I am selling my Violectric V181 balanced amplifier. It is in excellent condition but for the dust it has collected on my office desk. It has perhaps 400 hours of use with my Audeze LCD-2 headphones (now gone), and has otherwise sat on my office desk since arriving. I listen mostly to speakers and recently sold my Audeze cans so no longer need the amp. The amp comes with original box and papers and manual. I bought it from the U.S. distributor (AphroditeCU29) in January, 2011. It is an ideal amp for Audeze LCD-2's in my experience - huge bang-for-buck in this price range, and one of the acknowledged ideal amps for those headphones (as well as many others). It is a balanced SS amp with provision for single-ended use as well. The balanced output puts out about twice the power though and that's where it shines with the Audeze, though it sounded outstanding via the single-ended as well. I used it with a balanced front end too. The RCA jacks are switchable internally to be set as either input, or a line-output (they are currently set to be inputs). So you can attach a balanced source or a single-ended source. It also has DIP switches on the back to adjust the input sensitivity for various sources and headphones. German designed and built like a tank. I'm asking $750 OBO with strong preference for local (Seattle) buyers if I do sell it as well as being somewhat flexible on a cash-and-carry price. It is in excellent condition - 8/10 by Audiogon standards to be conservative. Questions always welcome. If you have Audeze headphones this would be an outstanding choice and a huge bargain at this price. See my feedback here and buy with confidence.
