If you are unfamiliar with this cable, it is really quite special in this day and age. Here is an excerpt from the internet:

What makes this wire so special?

The stranded 14 AWG wire used to make this cord was SPECIFICALLY ENGINEERED by Western Electric for use as an A/C power conductor. It is NOT engineered for speaker wire, telecommunications, or signal...this is the ULTIMATE in A/C wire!

This wire is EXTREMELY RARE; it has not been made for DECADES due to the HIGH COST OF MANUFACTURE as well as EPA RESTRICTIONS.

How was the wire made?

Aside from being made of HIGH PURITY COPPER, unlike modern wire, this wire was DRAWN from a SINGLE copper rod. This makes the crystalline structure elongated, more highly integrated, and totally different from modern production wire.

The strands were then PLATED...not silver...not tin...but a Western Electric PROPRIETARY ALLOY. Unlike modern wires, it was not electro-plated...it was actually DIPPED in a MOLTEN BATH of the plating alloy. This not only yields a MUCH THICKER plating, the process of immersing the copper strands in the heated molten bath ANNEALS the metal relaxing the inter-crystalline tension.

The strands were then twisted and coated with a FOAMED INSULATION with extremely good dielectric properties. As is true with some of the most highly sought after NOS capacitors, the polymer used for this insulation can no longer be produced due to EPA restrictions.

The foam insulated bundle of plated, twisted strands were then covered in a durable CLOTH SHEATHING.

I can speak from personal experience that I liked this cable so much that I ended up buying four and replaced all my Cardas GR. To me, it gave a deeper, quieter background and more of the music coming from a "velvet curtain" type of soundstage. I now have one extra due to some system downsizing. Please note that on the IEC connector one screw is loose, but it doens't affect the securement or performance in any way.
