Active Version Offers Greater In-Room Performance & Is A Vital Part of The Premium Room Treatment System

The active version of Super Sonic Tonic II (AKA Magic Maker) is meant to work as part of a complete premium room conditioning system. Use in combination with Sonic Tonic II Dots, and the new Super Sonic Tonic II Wallflowers to create a rich, dense, engaging and enveloping soundfield. 

How To Use

The Magic Makers act as "radiators" broadcasting their effect into the room. Sonic Tonic II Dots and SST II Wallflowers are placed about the room to reinforce this effect and project an even field around the boundaries of the listening area. Of course you need electrical outlets somewhat near the placement location (we offer cord lengths up to 15 feet). If you do not have available outlets, the SST II Wallflowers can act as a substitute, but you will need more of them to make up for the power of the  Magic Makers .

Active Is The Most Powerful

The Active  Magic Makers are about 8x more powerful than the passive Wallflower version of SST II. The Wallflowers are about 8x more powerful than the Dots. 

We recommend the below placement with 3  Magic Makers as a great place to start. The  Magic Makers work best when placed 5 or more feet off of the ground.

Note the side wall placement of the Active SST II Magic Makers. It is between 1 and 2 feet in front of the speakers. This helps to pull the image out into the room. The center placement of the 3rd Active SST II helps lock in a dense, rich center image. Place it higher for a more diffuse image, lower for a more focused image.

Adding the SST II Dots

The Dots extend the effect of Active SST II and help create a more holographic and enveloping soundfield. We use the Dots along the floor and ceiling, starting at the corners of the room behind the speakers. Along the floor, we space the Dots about 3 feet apart. Along the ceiling, we space them about 5 feet apart.

If you have a larger room with the wall behind your listening position more than 10 feet behind you, the ceiling placement helps to fill in the area behind your listening position, creating a more enveloping soundstage.

Height of placement matters

We recommend placing the Active SST II Magic Makers at least 5 feet off of the ground. Placing them higher will enhance image height more than image density at ear level. 

What you will hear

More liquidity. Dense, rich and dynamic images in a soundstage that not only expands beyond the width of the speakers, but beyond the boundaries of the room itself. Vocals and guitars are simply glorious with rich presence, texture and dynamic jump factor. Bass, depth, dynamics and tunefulness are greatly improved as well.
