Selling my original Music Reference RM 9 100 wpc stereo power amplifier serial #536 with optional rosewood base, purchased from another Audiogon member 10 years ago. This is a highly regarded, powerful amplifier that will drive nearly any speaker. It was recently serviced and completely checked out by our local McIntosh/Plinius/Musical Fidelity certified tech guru (1 capacitor and diode replaced). Very low hours (I estimate around 200) on the included platinum grade Electroharmonix KT-88 power tubes, which were purchased from Kevin Deal at Upscale Audio. I am linking a review below by Dick Olsher from Stereophile. **1/30/20 I am including a shipping option, buyer to pay $150 shipping costs, local sale/pick up in the Southern California/San Diego area is still welcomed and encouraged, you are welcome to listen before you buy. | Curious why you're using KT88's. The amp was designed for EL34 output tubes. And what input tubes are you using? Thanks! I preferred the sound with KT88 tubes, more lively and dynamic and designer Roger Modjeski signed off on using the tube in the RM9, this was also Dick Olsher's preferred tube when he reviewed the amp in Stereophile. |
