Verity Audio Parsifal - Time Capsule!

As a long time and experienced Verity Audio Dealer, we thought we had come across all of the various iterations of the renowned Parsifal. This particular pair surprised even us, given it's age, single owner status and condition.

Like most early Verity loudspeaker models, the Parsifal underwent multiple re-designs and significant upgrades along the way. The formal versions of the Parsifal included the "Encore", "Ovation", and "Anniversary" iterations. Even the Encore and Ovation underwent mid-model upgrades. Of note is the fact that the last of the Ovation model before being discontinued retailed for $25,000. Spanning nearly 30 years, there are few audiophiles that have been in audio for any length of time that do not know and have fond memories of this classic loudspeaker.

This pair of Parsifals were build and purchased in 1997 making them one of the very few early, "Pre-Encore" versions manufactured by Verity. We received a call locally from the owner asking if we could find a home for their beloved stereo system. It was important to them that the speakers live on and be appreciated as much as they appreciated them. The unfortunate reason behind their wishes was that both the husband and wife, now quite elderly , have lost their hearing, to the extent that they cannot use their system. Adding insult to injury, they had been decades long attendees of live concerts, including the Boston Symphony among others. Their life long love of music was what resulted in their assembling, what was at the time, a true reference caliper system.

NOTE: This would normally be a commission based sale, however, we will not be collecting any commissions for this offering.  The owners are wonderful people and we have elected to treat this sale on a pro bono basis to help them achieve their objectives. We will accept offers, however out of respect to the current owners please do not send us unreasonable low ball offers.

As mentioned, these speakers were purchased brand new and have remained with the single owners in a smoke free, very cared for environment all these years. As for condition, they are in very nice condition for their age, including the beautiful Macore finish. The system was still setup when we arrived at the home in spite of not having been used for some time.

Due to age, we ordered fresh new factory sets of "sorbethane" dampeners (located between the spearation plates and cabinets As well as brand new spikes (See new photos). All original packaging and and flight cases are part of the sale.

As mentioned above, the Macore veneer finish is in nice condition. One of the two speakers was exposed to some direct sunlight so you will note a slightly more "washed out" appearance on the top of one of the speakers. It is a relatively minor difference  but carefully done, even this could likely be minimized by carefully refreshing the clear coat with a cleaner or natural furniture polish. (see Photos)

We should also note that included with the Parsifals is the owner's original purchase 1997 paperwork. Frankly if an National Audiophile Museum existed, we would donate these speakers as one of the industry's significant products of the last 50 years.
