Nice pair of rare E-T LFT 3 loudspeakers in good condition. These are large (27"x56"x1" tapering to 4" at the base due to the crossovers) and very heavy (100lbs each). They are also relatively inefficient. The sound is heavenly, with great presence and amazing speed and resolution due to the large panel area. I have owned several pairs of Quad ESLs as well as Acoustat 2+2s, Magnepan MG 3As, KLH 9s and Martin Logans and these beat them all and make some sound broken. They are extended and big sounding when needed, and utterly transporting.
The oak frames on this pair are in very nice shape, but they don't have grill cloth or metal feet. A few of the two dozen plus cross bar magnets have minor scratches and the panels could use some gentle cleaning. Otherwise they look quite good for their age and my rating and asking price reflect the minor imperfections.
Here is more information from the E-T website:
Eminent Technology is a company established in 1983 by Bruce Thigpen to create innovative products for the audio field. Their first product was an air bearing straight line tracking tonearm for phonograph playback, this was the first implementation of a captured air bearing for tonearm use and was followed by a more advanced version of the concept which became a market leader in the (comparatively small) high-end tonearm market.
In 1985 Eminent Technology began developing planar magnetic loudspeakers and in 1987 introduced the world's first full range push-pull planar magnetic loudspeaker, the LFT-3.
(These were large 30" by 60" by 1" flat speakers using ceramic 8 permanent magnets and stretched polyester diaphragms.)
1987 - LFT-3 The Linear Field Transducer, patented, the first full range push pull planar magnetic loudspeaker.

I have two pairs of these to sell, but the asking price is for one pair only. I will sell the second pair to the buyer, if desired, at a package price. Local pickup with cash payment preferred due to size and weight. I am also willing to part these out at a reasonable price for users of models LFT 3, 4 and 6. Add 3% for paypal. I will ship provided that buyer pays for crating, shipping and insurance. All sales are final with no warrantees or guarantees.
