This is the second generation solid-state disk server that was optionally sold with the Ultimate Trio (as one of the three boxes). It accepts digital inputs via two USB connections. It can also be used with earlier Wadax DACs thru its Ethernet connection. Additionally, it can be connected to an external NAS via USB.
There are two bay doors on the back of the Server. Each can hold a 2.5-inch format SSD drive. One of which, a Crucial 256 GB drive is included as pictured.
It has a tray mechanism, as shown, that operates as a bit perfect (read til right) CD player. It utilizes a solid state " buffer" to hold the 16/44 Redbook recordings into memory for playback on Wadax DAC's.
Finally, this server can be universally utilized outside of Wadax equipment being a UpNp (universal plug n play) protocol device.
