Vandersteen 2w Subwoofer

Vandersteen 2W subwoofer. The subwoofer is in overall good cosmetic condition; the top veneer has some marks as pictured. Vandersteen Serial #3347. Works perfect with no issues.

The Vandersteen 2W is a three-driver subwoofer system which utilizes three 8" drivers in one enclosure. It does not work like a regular subwoofer and is not fed by a line-level sub channel. Instead it integrates into a 2-speaker stereo system needing a Vandersteen variable or fixed crossover between the preamp and power amp which attenuates the low frequencies on your main speakers. The output of your amplifier is then fed via dual speaker cables to your main speakers and also to the 2W subwoofer. The effect of the 2W subwoofer integrated in such a way is far more natural than a regular sub since you are not duplicating the frequencies your main speakers but dedicating this three-driver subwoofer to the bass frequencies and allowing the main speakers to effortlessly handle the mid-bass and higher frequencies.

Please note that I have 2 of these subwoofers for sale listed separately. If you are interested in both I will include the required Vandersteen WX-2 Variable Crossover, which is necessary to integrate the 2W subwoofers into your system. Only one crossover is necessary for both subwoofers.
