The D1 is a DAC and headphone amp. Inputs are USB Type B and optical digital (Toslink). Plug-and-play with Mac or PC, no drivers to install. The USB input is bus powered. Using the optical input would require an external power supply or USB connection; an external power supply is not included.
Outputs are analog 3.5mm stereo mini-jack on the front panel and analog RCA L/R stereo on the rear panel. The front panel volume knob controls both outputs. USB input is up 24/96 (188.2kHz & 192kHz re-sampled to 96kHz), optical is up to 24/192.
