For your consideration, a very special pair of MMGs these have an external X over built with prime parts in a piano black  monitor's box with an umbilical power cord some minor scuffs in the xover finish. I had in the past SMGa and recently MG .7s these MMGs are the best sounding pair I have own so far. The speakers sound magnificent same outstanding Maggie's sound but with deeper and more controlled bass dynamics also been substantially improved. These are not your run of the mill MMGs. The sock is in perfect condition and not attached to the mdf panel so you're able to listen without them (naked). I have the original box (bought from Magnepan $30.00 and new feet $40.00) but x-over ship separate, two boxes all together. Paypal 3%,   PS date on some pictures are wrong (camera runned out of batt) and time as you can tell from the pictures eg. 12:12 am with bright light outdoors and no I don't live in Norway!

Questions for the seller
When were these MMGs purchased? I have a pair of MMGs not modified. Is there a big difference between modified and unmodified. Better than .7. How much is shipping to Louisville, Ky? I have a modified MMG on Audio Mart. It looks different than yours. The pair I looked at as wood enclosure and the panels might be reversed. Very interested. If sound better than mine I will sell the unmodified version I have,
Hi and thanks for your interest in these pair. An honest answer will be... it depends. If the type of music you mostly listen to is acoustics, voices, and small classic works the .7 have no peers the midrange of the .7 is probably one of the best I have herd so far (Spendor 1/2 also) the modified MMG is a more versatile speakers with better dynamics and bass specially when placed in MYE speakers stands. The speaker you're referring to is probably the Peter Gunn mod and that one should sound even better than the one I have (is more expensive too) check here http://www.integracoustics.com/MUG/MUG/tweaks/peter_gunn/mmg.htm
Sorry for typos I have seen a modified and the pair I looked at has a wood enclosure. Dave 502-712-8837
I bought the speakers from an engineer guy in IL last summer i checked with Magnepan and they told me they were around 8yrs old. According to the previous owner he chose to work with this vintage because of some specific characteristics and durability of this panels. I used the speakers without the socks and at least verified the durability part of his statement they are in mint conditions. They did actually sound way much better than a pair of MMGi in my previous listening room in my new place the difference is not that great but still they sound better. Sorry for the long response but hope this helps
