Pair of Heathkit UA-1 Monoblock Tube Amplifiers in restored perfect working condition. Both amps have been serviced and old capacitors were replaced as needed. The amps are in overall good cosmetic condition consistent with age; some minor marks here and there and some minor pitting and paint wear on amp chassis as pictured; the transformer caps on one amp were coated with rust resistant black paint. Overall the amps are very presentable given their age; see pictures to judge condition.
The Heathkit UA-1's are truly exceptional sounding amplifiers based on EL84/6BQ5 type tubes. Each amp uses a pair of EL84 (6BQ5) output tubes running in Ultralinear mode. It uses a 6AN8 as the input and phase splitter, and a EZ81 (6CA4) as the rectifier.
These amps have fantastic output transformers, just plain amazing. They measure -3 dB points at 8 Hz and 65 KHz at full power plus the square wave response at 20 Hz (5 watts) is very clean, it looks like there isn't a transformer there at all. After all the most critical part of all tube amps are the output transformers -- these were made by Chicago Standard. These amps are real sleepers.
These are phenomenal sounding amps and dead quiet. The power tubes included are a matched quad set of JJ EL-84 tubes.
