Rarely available Denon TU-680NAB FM/AM Tuner. This is the model that was a collaboration between Denon and the National Association of Broadcasters (thus the NAB model designation). It is AMAX certified, meaning it meets certain frequency response standards for AM reception. It does not have RDS like the TU-650.
I did not use this Tuner at all for AM, just for FM. I can tell you that using my Magnum Dynalab ST-2 indoor antenna, this is simply the quietest and most receptive Tuner I have ever owned. I've had about 20 FM Tuners over the years and this one bested all except one, including some notables from Marantz, MD, Denon, Yamaha, Hitachi and even liked it better than my Luxman T-117. I am down to 2 tuners and I am keeping only the Rotel, which by the way does not lock onto a signal quite as good as the TU-680.
Rating 8 out of 10, only because I am the second owner and following Audiogon standards. Physical condition is 9 out of 10, with maybe the slightest rub mark on the upper rear panel. The face is outstanding. It has not been serviced / aligned but have no reason to think it is out of alignment, based on how well it locks into a signal.
I'm listing at $300 and will consider the right offer, especially if you are in the Greater New York or New England area and we can arrange a face to face transfer.
Original box, manual and an almost new remote are included. The AM loop antenna is included but the 75 ohm FM wire is gone. Will double box if shipping.
