The SOTA Sapphire was the first, and the most successful in terms of sales, of the new generation of high-end American turntables. As such, the SOTA can be viewed as leading this country's resurgeence of interest in high quality turntable production. At the time of the SOTA's introduction in 1981, it was the only high-end turntable manufactured in the US. The rest is history! SOTA tables are still some of the most highly coveted in the market, especially with this unique tonearm. Beautiful real wood plinth.

"The SOTA, VPI, and Delphi also work synergistically with the new air bearing arms. The Eminent Technology Two, for example, provided outstanding performance with all three turntables. In fact, I'd urge you to audition this combination. I've not had the opportunity to test the new SME or the latest Goldmund arms in my system, but the few people I know who've experimented have all felt the Eminent Technology to be at least as good, and $700 to $2200 cheaper." Stereophile  May 1986

Eminent Technology ET2: Air-Bearing Straight-Line Tracking Tonearm: It did not take very long to discover that the ET2 was one of the world's finest-sounding tonearms. The model two is an air bearing, straight line tracking tonearm for precise reproduction of analogue records. It is uniquely conceived tonearm, designed to be installed on turntables with universal mounts. It can be adapted to both solid mount (direct drive) turntables and spring suspended turntables. It's flexibility in many cases allows it to be mounted on many decks without the need for special hardware. Manual is available on their website.
