The VT-150 is an ultra-linear design that puts out 80 watts per channel with the factory supplied KT88 tubes. It does 100 watts with user supplied KT150 tubes. The amp straps mono and doubles to 160 watts in mono. RCA and XLR switching is done from the front panel and there is also a front panel gain (volume) control. This allows the amp to be used as a 2 source integrated amp. The meters read both power out and are used for biasing. This bad boy weighs in at 80 pounds and comes with a tube cage.
The amp was designed by the ex chief engineer of Line Magnetic and the same team that do our highly reviewed VT-70 integrated amp. That amp just got a fine Stereophile review and is Class B rated. This $3000.00 stereo power amp is sonic step up with far more power and designed to compete with $6000.00 to $8,000.00 competition in hi end systems.
