Focal Chorus 726V

Modern-looking, slender, floor standing speakers by Focal, a well-known French company making high quality audio speakers and amplifiers. These were purchased in 2007 for $2,500; a very similar model is still being made, so they have passed the test of time. These have no marks or blemishes and were well looked after; just sat in my living room for 12 years until I moved to a condo where they got less use. I cannot use them to good effect in a condo and have decided to switch to smaller speakers.

A powerful amplifier is not required, but like many large speakers higher volume is rewarding. However they are very easy to drive at 91.5 sensitivity. I run a YBA 100W into them which is entirely satisfactory with more than enough power to rattle the windows in a big room.

Each cabinet houses Focal's very good 1” tweeter, two 6” polyglass woofers, one 6” polyglass mid-range and a forward facing bass reflex port.

Excellent value for a speaker that competes with many audiophile brands double and triple this price. Excellent soundstage, punch and detail.  A fine all-round performer with high-end design...affordable luxury. These are fantastic looking speakers and are in flawless condition. The cabinet is MDF with braced, non-parallel inner walls, the finish is simulated wood veneer (looks nice…walnut?) with black cloth grille.

No boxes, so shipping would be expensive. However I could deliver in Metro Vancouver.
