Ayre Acoustics vr3 beautiful condition

  This VR3 has to be the cleanest one out there. all cooling fins are straight, there are no marks at all except for one tinny smudge on the front rail that can hardly be seen. and is NOT  into the leading edge which is perfectly straight. , I always look to see when these are being sold and I have never seen a cleaner one. I am the third owner. I have never removed the top and the owner before myself, said he had not.  I have had it about 5 or 6 years. About 6 months after I got it, I talked with  Ayre in Boulder, and checked with the serial number and they said it had never been into them. They suggested adding the inner power router and have a check up. So I sent it in and they installed the new power unite, bench tested it for 24 hours and installed a new rail fuse. with shipping and repair it took about 3 1/2 weeks. They have to be the best anywhere at upgrades or repairs, they are small boutique company and the attention to detail is amassing and i actually delt with  president during the whole prosses. They have several great you tube videos and actually talk at length on one video about the Vr3. Years ago I sent in my preamp to United Audio it 5 took  months and the communication was not good.. 
I am now 79 and  have been waiting for my sons new house to be built and will be moving in with them and I have lots of gear I have been selling off, at my age sadly it's time. This along with a  very rare tuner are my all-time favorite pieces and I have had a lot, I stared in the hobby when I was 18. Anyway it sounds great works great. I have seen these  on sale  any where from $1800 for crappy one's to $4200 for nicer one's. When new the VR3 was $4000 plus and according to them almost over built and it would not be profitable to build it today because the cost would be crazy. When buying vintage classics the danger always is who will with proper knowledge will be able to keep it up to a new like Standard. My VR3 is in excellent working order but have rated it very - good per the Audiogon system. Ayre told me when they took top off  my unit they said it appeared to be an untouched virgin, just dusk but no grime. Beside myself and the pervious owner no pets non smokers. and when not in use I cover all my gear with towels. I live alone so I can do this.  Also because I live alone  no one else has used it. I have the original shipping box  and manual and it will be double boxed. I am including NORDOST Blue Heaven 2m and Pangea Premier XLR to XLR 2m balanced cables. I bought both new and they are spotless. All you need is a balanced preamp and it can be used in RCA mode, but it is known for it's balanced stellar performance. Also after I got it back from Ayre I discovered they can install an on off toggle switch that use on current models that has a blue led light at the end, if ever you send it in that would be cool to have that installed. Will include  #1 Nordost Power cable Blue Heaven 2M, buyers choice.       Those are not scratches on the cooling fins just dust. MY son and I will double box the Ayre original box. You can tell they are not a mass producer but rather  being hand built, the serial numbers are hand written. "
PS, If you get a chance watch the You tube...Ayre a pint with Ayre " First Product " great video not a commercial they give insight to the amazing little known VR3 that they still service and do upgrades if you  get this unit be sure to have  them  put in the newer style power on switch that has a blue led light at the end ... very cool.   ...In couple of the outdoor photos , the light shadows  appear to make the  top to have a blemish, it has none it is perfect.
