Cary Audio CAD-808R, Rocket 88

Thinning out the herd a bit so I'm offering up my Cary Audio Rocket 88R. Yes, this is the R version with higher output than the original. Rated at 30 watts per channel in Triode mode and 60 watts per channel in Ultralinear mode. It also features both RCA and balanced inputs for flexibility.

I just had it serviced this spring by Cary Audio and is ready to go. Both the cat eyes work and the amp comes with a nice set of Ruby 6550's, as shown, a set of NOS CBS 12BZ7's, a set of vintage UltraTone EL84's, power cord, bias meter and a new shipping carton from Cary. For an extra $150, I'll ship it with a strong pair of early 1960's Telefunken ECC83's which sound fantastic!

This amp can also accept EL34's, KT66's, KT77's and KT90's on the output stage, along with 12AY7, 12AT7/ ECC83's on the inverter/ gain stage so you can tube-roll until you find the combo that works best for your set up.

As the pictures show, there are some blemishes in the paint on the sides from a prior owner, but from the front and top it still presents quite well.
