Here is the seldom offered AT-1009 tonearm. I bought two of these from a seller about twenty years ago, one of which I used and still have installed on a table I use in quadraphonic rig. This one has NEVER been mounted on a table and the arm is complete and in perfect condition. The AT-1009 is a solid performer and looks totally cool from removable headshell to micro adjusting knob at the rear. The cartridge VTA adjustment is accomplished via a sliding collar on the arm shaft (see picture). Overall build is absolutely stellar with fit and finish rivaling today's finest arms. If your looking for a solid, stable arm which will handle any number of cartridges AND looks super retro, this is your ticket.
I would rate this arm 9/10 except that its designed included a pneumatic arm lift, a few crucial parts of which are missing. That said, you can use the arm manually without an arm lift or use in conjunction with one of the many widely available automatic tonearm lifts on the market. In addition, these arms were not supplied with tonearm to phono stage cables, so a 5-pin cable will be required. I have the manual and mounting page as downloaded and printed from Vinyl Engine.
Given the rarity of these arms and the rarity of finding one NEVER MOUNTED, I am unsure of how to price this arm. I thought about an auction but I'll list at this price and invite any and all offers. That said, understand if I ignore silly low-ballers.
