I have a trade in 8/10 Modwright SWL-9.0 tube preamp for sale. It was traded from a Hawaii customer. It could be rated 9/10 as it is very clean. I sent it to Modwright for a checkup as the remote did not work. They cleaned it up, replaced a few caps, put in a new regulator as well as a new Sovtek 5AR4 recifier tube. They gave it a new remote control and clean bill of health. It will ship from Modwright in Amboy, Washington in a new box.
The preamp has 3 inputs, a full tape loop as well as home theater bypass.
The Class
A circuit is choke-regulated, with fixed battery bias for the gain
stage, a 'Mu" type gain/buffer stage, regulated DC heaters and discrete
FET-regulated B+ rails. Gain is 15dB, input Z 50K, output Z 600 ohm,
noise level -122dB, frequency response 17Hz - 200kHz +/- 1dB,
dimensions
are 17" W x 12" D x 4" H
weight is a considerable 24 lbs.
