STEREOPHILE Class “A” rated unit.
Tube preamp, with transistor amp section. (This is a magic combo !)
Used VERY little. I have only put on about 15-20 hrs of use on this unit. I have A LOT of gear, and like to rotate units IN/OUT of my system, for change of pace. It does EVERYTHING top class.
This ran my 5’ tall TYLER Linbrook speakers with ease. Also sounded great with my Gallo Reference 3.1 floor standing speakers. Ran THEM well also.
I used a Logitech Harmony color screen remote, which worked great (not included)(Can be included for $60)
SPECS:
o Type: Integrated amplifier with remote in Class A/AB, hybrid circuit with input tube stage, bridgeable
o Output Power: 2 x 70W @ 8 Ohm, 2 x 130W @ 4 Ohm, 270W in bridged mode (mono)
o Inputs: 5 line, including one balanced (XLR) Frequency response: 2Hz ÷ 100kHz
Ballsey. Seems like a 110 watt amp, likely the large CAPS help)
From a review:
“Even as the heart of a $100,000 system, the ClassicOne did an excellent job. I also made it a point to compare it to a couple of my other favorite amplifiers in the three to ten thousand dollar range to see how it stacked up against its peers. Needless to say, I came away very impressed. Should you live with the ClassicOne for a while and decide you have to have more power, the ClassicOne can be bridged and used in mono mode, giving you a pair of very compact 150-watt amplifiers.”
“Conclusion
Overall the Pathos is one of those rare components that achieves a perfect balance of performance, style and value. Thanks to the small tube compliment, you will not have to worry about sourcing tubes, either. The 6922 and it’s variants are very plentiful at reasonable cost, and I don’t imagine the ClassicOne going through tubes in a hurry, so probably a new pair every five years or so should keep you running along just fine.
Whether you are a mega audiophile putting together a second system, or a music lover that doesn’t want to sacrifice aesthetics for performance, this amplifier will keep both sides of your brain very happy.”
