provides a notable and well written synopsis of the history of Transcriptors from 1960 to present and of the Hydraulic Reference, including numerous design awards and notable celebrities whose movie sets and homes this stunningly beautiful turntable has graced. The motor bears the date 1 8 72, which would make this one of the last of the David Gannon British production before the firm relocated to Carlow, Ireland in 1973.

Rarely does a complete, original and fine example such as this become available. Included are the following genuine, original Transcriptors accessories: Sweep Arm, Stylus Brush and Stylus Scales. An original manual, product sheet and advertising brochure are included, as is a new genuine Michell belt and new unopened Michell Hydraulic fluid in bottle.

Appearance is very good. The platter, upon close inspection and in certain oblique lighting, shows some polishing swirls on the brushed aluminum top surface as does the black acrylic motor board cover. The Perspex cover is lovely, bearing only the slightest indication of use. Rubber foot pads and record supports are just renewed.

Performance is as new, both turntable and Fluid tone arm. Bearings are excellent. Crouzet motor (made in England) operates on 115 volts, 50Hz. An external power supply enables the platter to operate on 60Hz mains supply and obviates the need for the hydraulic well for speed regulation. The only modifications have been the removal of the 3' audio interconnects, which now terminate to female RCA jacks mounted to the rear of the motor board, allowing optimum interconnect length and quality. The original AC power line has been modified to terminate to a USA plug.

Available separately are a Goldring 900 IGC pick up head (as shown) with original van den Hul (type 1) stylus and a Music Hall Cruise Control 2.0 external power supply.

Local pick-up preferred. Buyer to pay actual shipping cost.
