Vac Auricle MusicBloc70 3 amps - left, center & right

On offer is an awesome set of three of the Valve Amplification Company (VAC) Auricle Musicbloc mono amplifiers.

These were introduced in 2005 when, per Kevin Hayes, he found a way to make a KT-88 based circuit sound better than his prior efforts with the venerable 300B tube!! Each unit is a separate mono amplifier that makes 70 watts per channel on a pair of KT-88 tubes and a pair of 12AU7s. I bought these intending to build a tube-based home theater system, but my plans have since changed. My loss = your gain.


These were purchased as a pair made in 2005 with the balanced input option (it added $500 to the original price making for a new price of $5500 for the pair and gave each amp both balanced and RCA inputs), and a single amp made in 2006 which has the standard RCA input only and cost $2500 when new. This makes for an $8000 trio of monoblocks on offer to you here for only a fraction of that amount.


The tubes are VAC branded ones with the possible exception of the output tubes in one of the trio... cannot vouch for them since they are the only ones that are not marked as VAC, but I am uncertain of the number of hours that are on any of them. I have original boxes for all as well as the VAC users's manual.



The listing price assumes that you are paying in cash and are picking the amps up in person. I can easily accept PayPal for payment and/or ship the amps, but either of these adds to the listed price since neither is free to me & will reduce the bottom line that I will make on the transaction. I only charge actual insured shipping costs though and I only add the 3.5% passthrough fee to cover what PayPal taketh away.
