Yamaha NS-1000M Studio Monitor Speakers

This legendary three-way loudspeaker system, consisting of beryllium-dome mid-range and tweeter drivers and a 12”cone-type woofer, was developed in the mid-1970s using resources that only a large company the size of Yamaha could provide. Pure beryllium is commonly used for military and aerospace applications, due to its high stiffness and light weight. It is stiffer than titanium and lighter than aluminum, but it is quite expensive. The NS-1000M's are one of the most transparent speakers ever made, with dazzlingly fast transients, superb sound staging and great clarity and detail. The sealed enclosure for the woofer provides a tight, controlled, and deep bass. This pair of NS-1000M's have been upgraded; the original spring clips have been replaced with 5-way binding posts in order to use audiophile speaker cable. Nominal impedance: 8 ohms.
