This is a fairly early model of the JMW-10.5 tonearm. I have two now but I'm not really using this one. Note that it has the dropped mass counterweight. The tonearm's effective length is 10.5".
I used this on a VPI Aries, the original version.
I've conservatively rated it a 7.
PLEASE NOTE: the cartridge is NOT included.
Questions for the seller |

Thanks for the response! Definitely potentially interested as my JMW 10 is pretty long in the tooth and the discovery wires aren't as tight as they once were, and I have no mechanical antiskate.
One last question; did you ever use the fishing line style anti-skate? Just trying to figure out how that works, via adding a weight at the end? No, I have never used the tonearm as it does not work with my base. I honestly don't know much about it. I have found Jose at VPI to be very helpful on questions I have had in the past. Hope that helps,

Good Evening! Does this tonearm have any antiskate beyond twisting the tonearm wires? I have a Aries I and a JMW 10 tonearm but it has no mechanical antiskate of any kind that model, was wondering if your 10.5 is when they started including antiskate. Thanks! Yes it does. There is what kinda looks like a fishing line for anti-skate. I bought the tonearm for my scout thinking it would work and unfortunately it doesn't fit without replacing the tonearm base. |
