Hello! My name is Dean and I am starting a new company, sonic.build. I am applying my 17 years designing and installing A/V in fine homes in San Francisco and beyond, and am going to hand-build Roon Bridges, one for use with your own amp, the other for use with your own DAC. These will be plug-and-play (especially when connected to Ethernet) and are ideal for homes with a multiroom audio.
I am completely aware anyone can build their own - but I believe many people either don't want to fuss with it, or don't have the aptitude to do so in the first place. I also get that people can buy a WiiM Pro Plus for less - but with me, you're dealing with a person, in the US, and not some faceless foreign business. I am here. My plan is to price both models at $250.
